Back in the Field!

 10/08/2022 - 12:00 pm Location: Holly Ridge Farm in Ashland, VA Weather/Conditions: 60 degrees, cloudy, N 6mph Age: 30 minutes Tracklayer: Self We did the 4 start track exercise. My plan was to let it age for an hour but I got hungry so it only aged for about 30 minutes. That was fine because after our tennis court incident last time we were out tracking I just wanted her to have fun. The goal of fun was met! I should have worn gloves. She dragged me to the flag and was off. She really did everything well. Her turns were on point (I had a flag about 10-15 paces before the turn), she indicated all of her articles. She tracked from one track to the next (they were 20-30 paces apart. I was going to switch to her collar but as long as she was working and happy I let her go. She slowed down significantly on the last track because of the food - no food left behind! All in all it was a good day. She seemed to enjoy herself and I was very happy with her tracking behavior. Holly Ridge Farm 3/16/2022

 3/16/2022 - 4:50 pm Location: Holly Ridge Farm in Ashland, VA Weather/Conditions: 71 degrees, sunny, 8 mph wind from the SE Cover: lawn grass Age: 30 minutes Tracklayer: Self I was going to lay her track in the hay fields but they got fertilized today, so I ended up just putting it around the house in the yard. I followed your pattern: First leg: S10, W15, F7. Second: S10, W25, F 12. Last leg, S10, W10, F5. Dinner in the glove. It was a 90 right followed by an open right. Start and end article with food. She picked up the start article and threw it behind her, turned and sat. When I touched the article she downed. She got her hotdog and then the comcast guy drove up and parked and got out right by our start. This was very distracting to Saber because little Miss FOMO is nosy. It took a few minutes to actually get her to start tracking, but once she did she was all business. She slightly overshot the first turn, but self corrected by the time my feet were on the turn.  Date: 10/15/2021 Location: Montpelier, VA Weather Conditions: Sunny, 60s 3 Tracks run immediately back to back. Scuff with food every 4 steps. Article 1 food - learning down indication Article 2 toy - tried to get her to play, but she wanted food. Article three shook glove and flung food around.
